past the point of love

as your told

Jonah met the man on time. He was just the man as far as any of them were concerned. Jonah hated to look into his eyes because they didn’t seem to be of this world. There was just something creepy about Josie’s Dad. But he respected him, and knew he’d been there the longest in the gang and yet no one really knew of it except for the few who took orders from him. Perhaps he was an alien from another planet. Jonah liked to believe that as strange and skelton like his face could be sometimes. He was lean and he was mean. Jonah had seen him plenty ugly before so he knew to mind his P’s and Q’s when he was around the man. “So you have her?” He looked at Jonah as if he better have good news for him. “Yeah.” Jonah squinted. “It was easy.” He smiled then as if everything was easy he did. “But you didn’t bring her?” He looked put off by it. “I thought you wanted her doped up.” Jonah shrugged. “You said you’d take care of the rest.” Josie’s father just gave him the stare down and remained even lipped. “What did she say?” “She’s just scared. She’s OK.” Jonah nodded not sure if he even wanted to know what was next. He just wanted out of it. He needed to go his own way. There was no need for him to stick around to have to do anything more with Josie. “I want you to go back to her. I want you to make sure she’s good and ready to be shipped out of here. Got it?” “Got it.” Jonah didn’t dare blink then. He would have to do as he was told.
